Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.

- Nelson Mandela

EILEEN Jenetopulos is an Education Consultant at ACCESS! Education Consulting.

EILEEN, having traveled an extraordinary educational route herself, is an exceptionally experienced and compassionate Education Consultant. After attaining her high school diploma, EILEEN opted to take on full time office work - swearing that she had served her time in school. But, just a few months later, EILEEN had a change of heart and enrolled in college night classes.

After long nights and even longer days, EILEEN proudly earned a certificate in drug and alcohol counseling at South Central Community College (now Gateway Community College) and then a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Southern Connecticut State University. Then, with ten years of night school behind her, EILEEN'S educational journey led her to her true calling and after four more years of learning, EILEEN was awarded a Juris Doctorate from Western New England College School of Law in 1991.

  • Education:
  • B.A., Sociology, Southern Connecticut State University (1984)
  • J.D., Western New England College School of Law (1991)

  • Experience:
  • 2009 State of Connecticut Guardian Ad Litem Training
  • 2011 Licensed as a therapeutic foster parent
  • 2013 Certificate in Special Education Advocacy - William & Mary Law Institute of Special Education Advocacy (ISEA)

EILEEN is a specially appointed Individuals With Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA) educational 'Surrogate Parent' by both the Connecticut and Massachusetts State Departments of Education and as such she is responsible for ensuring that children who are wards of the state receive a free and appropriate public education (FAPE). EILEEN is also a privately practicing Connecticut attorney who puts her experience to work for children and individuals with disabilities including, accepting by appointment of CT Family Court to act as Guardian Ad Litem in disputed custody cases.*

All of us do not have equal talent, but all of us should have equal opportunity.

- John F. Kennedy

It has been over twenty years since EILEEN began fighting for the educational rights of her own three children and now continues to serve this role as a foster parent and as a surrogate parent.

EILEEN enjoys volunteering her time to Lawyers For Children America representing children in the juvenile justice system and at the Ronald McDonald House of Southern Connecticut where she does whatever it takes to create a “home away from home” for families of children who are undergoing medical treatment at New Haven area hospitals.
